For this installation, you'll need a Phillips-head screwdriver—sizes 0, 1, or 2 will work. Follow these step-by-step instructions, and you'll have your headphones upgraded in no time.
Step 1: Remove the Top Screws
Start by removing the two black screws at the top of the metal yoke rods. They can be unscrewed by hand, but a small Flat Head screwdriver will help if they’re a bit tight.
Step 2: Detach the Yoke Rods
Gently pull the adjustment blocks straight out from the yoke rods.
Step 3: Detaching the Left Adjustment Block
Unscrew all four screws with your screwdriver from the left adjustment block and detach the headband along with the “L” indicator plate.
Step 4: Reattach the “L” Indicator Plate
Secure the “L” indicator plate to the adjustment block using just one screw as a reference to keep track of the left side. Set it aside for later.
Step 5: Detaching the Right Adjustment Block
Repeat the same process on the right side. Unscrew all four screws with your screwdriver and remove the headband along with the “R” indicator plate, which will be reattached shortly.
Step 6: Position the New Headband
Lie the spring steel band upside down. Remove the stock headband then place the new suspension headband inside it, ensuring that the cushion side faces the inner curve of the headband.
Step 7: Prepare the Right Side
Align the holes of the new headband with the spring steel band, position the “R” indicator plate on top, and screw each of the four screws halfway ensuring the ends are flush to the back of the spring steel band.
Step 8: Fasten the Right Adjustment Block
Align the “R” indicator plate and headband with the adjustment block, then tighten all four screws with your screwdriver to secure the right side.
Step 9: Detach the “L” Indicator Plate
Unscrew the temporary screw holding the “L” indicator plate, preparing the left side for final attachment.
Step 10: Prepare the Left Side
Align the left side holes with the spring steel band, position the “L” plate on top, and screw each of the four screws halfway ensuring the ends are flush to the back of the spring steel band.
Step 11: Fasten the Left Adjustment Block
Align the “L” indicator plate and headband with the left adjustment block, then tighten all four screws with your screwdriver to secure the left side.
Step 12: Reinsert the Yoke Rods
Slide the yoke rods back into the adjustment blocks. If they don’t slide in easily, try flipping the headband around.
Step 13: Secure the Top Screws
Reinstall the black screws on top of the yoke rods and tighten them until secure.
You're all set! Your Audeze headphones are now equipped with a fresh headband, ready for comfortable listening.
